Grab Attention the Mariah Carey Way
We all know of the nervous breakdown. And who hasn’t heard about the whole Eminem debacle? Yes, Mariah Carey’s a bit of a car crash. She’s a wreck, but we just can’t look away. Especially when she’s accidentally-on-purpose drawing attention to her sizeable, umm, goods.
She’s recently been spotten at Van Cleef and Arpels on Rodeo Drive, sipping champagne and shopping for - what else? - jewelry. For the record, Mariah only wears VC&A jewelry, following such notable names as Eva Peron, Marlene Dietrich, and Princess Grace of Monaco who have patronized the famous French jewelry house throughout its more than a century-old existence. Her trademark butterfly ring was especially made for her by VC&A.
This particular day in Rodeo Drive, Mariah was trying on the Lucky Alhambra long necklace of the very popular Alhambra collection. Of course, the signature 4-leaf clover charms are present as always, as well as a variety of leaf, star, and butterfly charms, all in turquoise, white and grey mother-of-pearls, and lapis lazuli on a white gold chain. The necklace, all 60 inches of it, accentuate Mariah’s rather ample airbags. That and the apparently missing buttons on her shirt (with another one threatening to do a runner, too).
This piece doesn’t come cheap. Neither does Mariah’s dumplings, for that matter. But if you fancy the look, you can get a Van Cleef and Arpels-inspired necklace for a mere fraction of the cost. A pair of earrings to go with it might be a bit over the top, but you can always wear them as separate pieces. Oh, and do button up. The necklace will already attract looks, as it is.
